UniExo and Coremergy Are Announced as Winners of Starta Accelerator’s Pitch Contests in Kiev and Minsk.
Nothing drives innovation as much as competition, Starta Accelerator, a New-York based Accelerator proved that to be true once more at its two recent pitch contests. The contests and panel discussions were hosted within Starta’s roadshow to recruit a new batch of companies for its winter acceleration program starting January, 2018.
The events which took place in Kiev, Ukraine and Minsk, Belarus, attracted more than 150 registered attendees and over 50 start-up companies eager to compete for Starta’s grand prize — a trip to New York.
The Participants only had 60 seconds each to pitch their idea to a panel of experienced judges such as Alex Momot, Alexey Zhabskiy and Anton Gera. Alexey Girin, Co-founder & Managing Partner of Starta Ventures acted as Head of the Panel.
UniExo’s Anton Holovachenko was named the Grand Prize Winner of the November 16th VC vs. ICO: Global fundraising & Startup Pitch Contest in Kiev. UniExo helps people with injuries and movement problems restore the motor functions of their bodies. The startup uses modular robotic exoskeleton devices which don’t require any additional help of medical doctors.
The Pitch Contest & Happy Hour in Minsk on November 17th was won by Coremergy, a belarusian start-up that offers devices and mobile services for doing rapid ECG (electrocardiography). Coremergy products help early detection and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. The process only takes 2 minutes and the results are displayed in a Coremergy application which could be installed on a cell phone.
Second and third place winners were presented with a year-long Spunik Space Co-Working memberships and Virtual Desk packages.
Among the companies were Litnet, an Ebook marketplace with a new model of distribution, TvStyle, a start-up that helps people dress as their favourite TV characters, NeoSound, a company that analyzes audio data, Bounty Guru, a Crowd Marketing AI Platform, and Stringers Hub, a service that connects TV professionals all over the world.
Several of the participant startups have already applied for Starta Accelerator’s program in New York. The list of Batch 5 participants, receiving funding from Starta and joining the acceleration program on January 7th will soon be announced.
